Sponsorship opportunities are available for the City of Welch Coalfields Cookoff event. Sponsorship of this event offers your business or organization maximum exposure to a large local and visiting audience. Get social media and radio advertising and media exposure.
Be part of this special event and commit to a sponsorship today! Sponsorship commitments are requested on or before May 1, 2021, so we can plan inclusion of your logo and/or name in our materials. Contact us to tailor a sponsorship based on your individual needs.
Volunteers
We want you! Ask a friend to join you for a day of helping at the City of Welch Coalfields Cookoff Festival. Some possible assignments include gate admission, attendee assistance, helping vendors set up and parking coordination. Volunteers helping all day receive free admission, lunch, and a t-shirt!
Volunteers must be 14 years or older. Volunteers wanting to take part in the City of Welch Coalfields Cookoff Festival should sign up using the volunteer form.
Crafters/VENDORS
Featuring artisans and crafters, the Arts and Crafts tent at City of Welch Coalfields Cookoff will have treasures you will want to take home. Offering many unique items like wearables, musical instruments, handcrafted furniture, garden art, cozy quilts, traditional and fine art, jewelry, wearable art, handmade soaps, candles, packaged gourmet delights and much, much more!
Cost is $25 per table or $50 for a 10x30 (suitable to park a trailer)
ATV AND MUSIC
COnTESTS
ATV's, Side-by-Sides, and Quads are welcomed in the City of Welch, WV. With a connector trail to the Hatfield McCoy trail near the festival grounds, we invite you to attend, participate in our ATV contests (coolest ride, worst ride, and more, as well as, take a drive in the country.
We are also looking for ATV related vendors! Buckle up Baby! Its gonna be quite a ride.
Food
Concessions
We are seeking food vendors for the event. Use of an approx. 10' X 30' space (unless otherwise authorized) with an additional prep area as described above. We hope you'll serve BBQ as part of your menu, but all types of food vendors will be welcomed. The event will be limited to four food vendors.
Use of 20-amp electric are available on . A water station is available onsite, and ice is available for purchase. Fill out the vendor form here
All food concessions must comply with West Virginia Health Codes and state laws.
Volunteers
All Concession/Food vendors must have insurance before they will be admitted to the festival grounds to set up. You will need to have an active liability insurance policy and provide a certificate of coverage.
Please staple a copy to each event application that you are submitting.
BBQ
In addition to accumulating points for KCBS end of year awards, participating KCBS BBQ Teams compete to win cash prizes from the local organizer, the Town of Welch. The highest number of points accumulated in the KCBS contest are calculated and a Grand Champion, Reserve Grand Champion, and first through fifth place in each meat type will receive awards and cash prizes. The winner of this contest will be invited to go to the American Royal and will be entered in the Jack Daniels contest lotto. Teams will be judged by KCBS certified judges in the following categories, brisket, ribs, pork, and chicken.
